Incomplete genealogy of a poem

What are little poems made of?

Lines and spells

drawn from flowing ink wells,

Nibbles and bites

of stanzas dreamed at night,

Hearts and souls,

Glowing embers and coals,

Cheers and jeers,

And salt from warm tears,

That’s what poems are made of.
